What is home? Is it just the place where you were born or grew up? What does home mean to people who never stay in one place?
The history of the Russian Germans is a relatively unknown but significant story that goes back hundreds of years and has impacted many people through that time. Based on recollections of my grandparents and relatives, this book depicts our story. It includes background information on the historical context, beginning with the invitation, descriptions of life in Russia, and their return to Germany. The novel is about home, identity loss, and the emergence of a new culture. The experience of our history is the central theme of my artwork, based on records, poetry, pictures, and illustrations.
